Join us for an extraordinary fusion of art and fashion at the inaugural Columbus Fashion Academy Art Gallery and Spring Fashion Show, held on Sunday, March 10th, from 1 to 4 pm at the prestigious Columbus Museum of Art.
Under the visionary direction of Priscila Teixeira, with her globally recognized expertise in fashion business and communications, this event promises to transport you to the front rows of Paris fashion week. Experience the thrill of haute couture as over 50 Academy students showcase their unique designs on the runway, each piece a testament to upcycling and sustainability, transformed from pre-loved materials into high fashion.
The event commences at 1 pm with an intimate VIP reception. Indulge in an array of refreshments and appetizers, immerse yourself in music handpicked by the designers, and mingle in an atmosphere pulsating with creativity and community spirit.
The Art Gallery, a student-curated exhibit, offers a glimpse into the minds of these young artists, with each custom creation accompanied by a personal narrative of inspiration and design philosophy.
At 3 pm, the spotlight shifts to the runway for the fashion show. A professional emcee will guide you through this dazzling display of couture, highlighting the individuality and craftsmanship of each designer.
This inaugural event not only showcases fashion but also embodies the Columbus Fashion Academy's commitment to education, artistic freedom, environmental stewardship, and inclusivity.

Yes, a few students might decide to wear one look down the runway and display another favorite in the art gallery. Please communicate with Priscila to make sure this is possible. Deadline for all entries is Feb 29.
All clothes and accessories intended for the show (either displayed in the gallery or worn in the runway), must be delivered to Columbus Fashion Academy staff prior to the event. All pieces must be present for our run through event on Sunday 3/3 at 3pm.
If your student is only showcasing in the art gallery, they should come already dressed as an artist wearing what they love.
Absolutely yes. We re-use everything, it doesnt matter if it is brand new or super old, intact or broken in pieces. If we find clothes or artifacts that have fashion historical value, we will resell it online versus altering from its original into repurpose projects. Some valuables should be kept intact and be on the hands of collectors. The proceeds from resale of such donated items support our educational programs. We use those funds to buy art fashion event supplies, or proceeds can help paying for operational expenses in the gallery, whatever it is needed. We appreciate your donations.
AKADA is providing hair stylists to do model's hairdo for the show. If a student desires to have their hair done at home and come ready, it's fine and they can still hangout backstage with other kids prior to show. Traditional makeup and face painting will be done by a team of artist volunteers.
Please note, we will not provide faux nails to models. Students will have a large variety of nail polish colors to select from.
Yes, students are welcome to bring their own makeup kit. We highly recommend labeling all their personal belongings. Backstage is a beehive of excited people and things can easily get lost. We highly recommend not valuables to be brought backstage. Regarding shoes, all students bring and wear their own shoes. Its up to the parents what style (heels or not) they allow their kids to walk. Students who walk the runway will have a few steps up and down from stage area, be aware.
No, only students and volunteers who have VIP badge will have backstage access. Kids work real hard and wait for many weeks to show you their creations. We dont want spoil the surprise. Parents and other guests are invited to enjoy the museum between 1:30-3pm while models and fashion designers will remain backstage getting ready for the runway.

Absolutely! We warmly welcome your friends and family to join us. The museum is open to everyone and completely free of charge on Sundays.
Absolutely! After the show, students are not only allowed but encouraged to take all of their design creations home. We believe in the joy and pride that comes from making, keeping and cherishing their own work. However, we're also deeply committed to sustainability and the wise use of resources. If there are any pieces you feel won't be used again, we gladly accept them back. Our goal is to minimize waste and ensure each design is worn and loved as much as possible. Any creations not taken home will find a second life, either being showcased in our new art gallery space in Franklinton or repurposed into exciting upcycle projects. This approach allows us to cherish and extend the life of every piece created within our community.
We've thoughtfully decided to keep students' creations at our studio until showtime, and here's why: Imagine the hustle and bustle of preparing for a big showcase. In these moments, it's easy for both kids and parents to feel the pressure, and we want to eliminate any added stress. By keeping the pieces with us, we ensure everything is meticulously labeled, prepped, and ready for the spotlight without the worry of remembering to pack them for the show. This way, families can focus on the excitement of the event, not the logistics. Rest assured, after the grand showcase, every young designer will proudly take their masterpieces home
