A: Discover Learning On-the-Go and Studio-Based Classes at Columbus Fashion Academy!
Yes, at Columbus Fashion Academy, we embrace a unique approach to fashion education. While we love bringing our educational programs directly to our students, wherever they are, we also cherish our physical presence. Our building "Luxboheme Gallery" is located at 218 McDowell St. in the heart of Franklinton Arts District (directly across from One Line Coffee on Rich St).
Our Summer Fashion Camp focus on students in the age group of 5-14 years old.
We aim to have 3/1 ratio during summer camp hours. You can meet our leadership team by visiting "meet the team" page here.
We will offer a "boutique' size camp this summer. Max. 20 students will be allowed per class.
Please visit our Policies page to learn more.
Our flagship program, "Fashion Runway Production" is currently offered as an afterschool program 3x/year (Winter, Spring, and Fall) at selected Elementary and Middle schools in Central Ohio. The program is also offered through UARP Youth Activities year around, as well as in our own location in Franklinton.
We also offer Adult Programs around the language and psychology of fashion. Visit Upper Arlington Rec & Parks website to find most current offerings.
Our leadership team continues to collaborate with other local non-profits and will share educational opportunities as they arise. Sign up and stay in the loop of opportunities.
Pioneering Sustainable Fashion Education: Columbus Fashion Academy' follows a Social Enterprise Model, our focus extends beyond the conventional. While we are not a non-profit, we proudly operate as a social enterprise, firmly rooted in the Triple Bottom Line framework. This framework emphasizes three critical pillars: People, Planet, and Profits. Our commitment to these principles shapes every aspect of our academy.
People and Community at Heart: Our mission revolves around the well-being of people and communities. We believe in empowering individuals through fashion education, fostering a nurturing environment that supports growth, creativity, and social responsibility.
Planet-Conscious Operations: Our dedication to the planet is evident in our sustainable practices. We actively integrate eco-conscious decision-making in our operations, aspiring to create a positive impact on the environment. This approach is not just a policy; it's a core part of our identity.
Profits with Purpose: As a social enterprise, we strive for profitability, but with a purpose. Our profits are reinvested in ways that amplify our social and environmental objectives, ensuring that our success contributes to the greater good.
Educational Arm - Cultivating Future Fashion Leaders: Our educational division is especially dear to us. It operates as a vibrant platform for teaching fashion art and entrepreneurship to students from grades K-12 across Ohio. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing young talent and instilling entrepreneurial spirit, preparing them for a future where fashion and sustainability go hand in hand.

We accept fabric, garments and accessories of all styles and conditions. We are currently seeking a few more sewing machines, looms, all kinds of jewelry making tools and supplies, dress forms, fashion design rulers, fabric scissors, fabric markers and paint, crochet, knit and embroidery sewing needles and craft supplies. Not yet. We are looking into funding possibilities and projects to support our mission and vision. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn fashion as a language and be their best. We will update the website when we have more solid news. Want to stay in the loop? Sign-up to stay connected!
Any items not used in our classrooms, fashion productions or special events will be recycled or donated to other organizations in our community. We also partner with individuals and organizations to serve the underserved in our community (ie.: we pass on coats to kids and homeless during winter months), etc. We strive for minimal to zero waste.
We are fashion lovers and connoiseurs. In the event we identify a piece of historical design value, we place it for sale in consignment with our online retailer. We want those treasures to stay intact and carry on their original design and history. These collectibles will be cherished and cared for by buyers who recognize its original design and will preserve their rich fashion historical value. All profits from those sales are used to support Columbus Fashion Academy operational costs, including the purchase of art supplies for classes.
Curious to know who is our retail partner? Talkingfashion Inc. has been selling sustainable fashion online for over 2 decades. The ecommerce store brings buyers from all over the world, many are movie producers, wardrobe set stylists and fashion houses who use old designs as inspiration. Proceeds from the sales of donated pieces are used to fund our educational programs.
